Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. – Galatians 6:7-10
I have needs. You have needs. The church has needs. Some of the needs of LWFC are immediate, some are long-term; some are one-time needs, some are constant.
LWFC needs (numbers are for listing purposes only; not ranking):
- Teachers and helpers for children’s church (always).
- Children’s workers (for special meetings).
- Money to pay bills, meet payroll, and support missionaries (always).
- A new main parking lot (1-3 years).
- VBS workers (now).
- Info desk attendants.
- Social committee volunteers.
- People committed to pray with us on Monday nights.
And that’s just a sample. We’ll always be looking to train new ushers, new praise and worship leaders, greeters, bookstore workers, small group hosts/leaders, and many other things. There are al-ways items throughout the year that need purchased or repaired; always new ideas brewing about expanding or improving our place of worship.
And God has been SO good to us, hasn’t He? We really are a blessed congregation. Our needs are not desperate, and we have witnessed time and again how God has enabled us to pay off building projects, how He has brought the right people at the right time, and how He has abundantly met our needs!
But God does that through people like you and me. You know what need is? It is opportunity. Identify a need that you can meet, and meet that need! That’s the application of the verse quoted above. You meet someone else’s need, meet a need in the church, and you are sowing. And God will not be mocked. He will be a debtor to no man. You will reap. Got a need in your life? Look for an opportunity to sow. Look for a need to meet. You don’t have to look far; there’s a list right up there^. That’s good ground to sow in.
Blessings,
