Living The Gospel Preaching the Gospel

The Power of Their Testimony

As we wrap up our three week fast for 2021, I want to take this opportunity to, first of all, thank you for participating in it. There is power in agreement, and as we commit to fast and pray as a local body of believers, that power is manifested in our midst. I know Living Word will be a stronger, healthier church because of this time. I also want to encourage you to continue to seek the Lord with new vigor concerning any long-term changes He would have you implement in your lives, especially concerning prayer.

Again, I remind you that there are two excellent opportunities to gather for corporate prayer at LWFC; Men’s prayer on Saturday mornings at 7 AM, and Monday night prayer at 7 PM. Both meetings are in the fellowship hall. You do not have to commit to being there every week, and no one is going to make you pray out loud if you are uncomfortable with that. I haven’t done a very good job of reminding us about this, but the first Monday of every month is still the day we encourage you to fast until prayer time. Even if you are unable to attend the meeting, this is something you can participate in. Some do a “no-media Monday”, some do a simple, limited fast, and of course you may choose to do a total fast on those Mondays.

Another thing I want to share with you is that we will continue to celebrate 40 years of Living Word throughout this year. What I would like from you is a testimony. We’d like to show a short video each Sunday of as many of you that are willing, sharing a brief testimony of how you came to be connected to LWFC, what this church has meant to you over the years, etc. If you would rather not be in a video, please consider writing a version for the newsletter.

These testimonies are not just about nostalgia; it is important to remember what God has done in our lives; what He brought us out of, what He brought us into. Many of you can say, as I do, that my life would not be the same without Living Word Family Church. And it is certainly true that Living Word Family Church would not be the same without each and every one of YOU.

I often point out (usually when receiving an offering for a visiting missionary or another minister), that great things are being done around the world because of what we, as a church, do to support these ministries. But it is just as important to remember and celebrate the great things God has done, is doing, and will continue to do right here, in our midst, in THIS assembly! People need to hear it; will you tell your story?

I love you guys and am looking forward to a great year of serving the Lord with you!

Also, let me know if I can count on you for a testimony.

Blessings,
