Upon completing University and Bible School training, Keith and Heidi Hershey began work internationally with a group of African evangelists. In 1984, after one year of overseas ministry as itinerant evangelists, Keith and Heidi returned to America to officially launch Mutual Faith Ministries International.
Since its inception, Mutual Faith Ministries has thrived. Many nations experienced revival through the evangelistic crusades and leadership conferences hosted by MFMI. Thousands of lives have been changed by the power of the Gospel; as everyone from heads of state to local village chiefs have had dramatic encounters with Jesus Christ!
Many people have asked how the name Mutual Faith Ministries came to be. The biblical foundation for Mutual Faith is found in Romans 1:11-12 which reads,”I long to see you that I might impart to you a spiritual gift, to the end you will be established; that is by the mutual faith both of you and me.” Mutual Faith is a biblical term that simply means there is multiplied potential in the Kingdom of God as people join together in faith.
Because of the tremendous challenges in our world with terrorism, Mutual Faith has launched a vital outreach in regions of rage around the world. OPERATION LIFE CELL is a spiritual response to terrorism. Ever since the terrorist attack in New York on September 11, 2001, Mutual Faith has launched an all out spiritual war against rage and anger. This is modeled after the biblical character Ananias, when God sent him to a terrorist named Saul and witness unto him about the Just One, Jesus.
Mutual Faith Ministries has also founded the LIFE Leadership Institute, which offers a 1 or 2 year program, usually in local churches, to teach and encourage people to take their place serving the Lord in their local church. LIFE Leadership Institute (LLI) is currently serving over 5,000 students in Latin America and Africa alone.
Life Homes is a housing project Mutual Faith established where they feed, house and teach orphaned children that are neglected by their parents, and society as a whole. They currently have homes in Guatemala, India amd Ghana.
